Description:
This vibrant and dramatically coloured gouache by Guy Nicod presents an expressive abstract still life dominated by rich reds, oranges, and deep plum tones. The composition centres on clusters of oranges and apples, some arranged within rounded black bowls, while others sit loosely across the table surface. Their bright, glowing forms pulse with energy against the contrasting deep red and magenta backdrop.
Scattered throughout the lower portion of the painting are several pear-like shapes, rendered in warm tones of ochre, olive, and gold. These fruit forms anchor the composition and provide a counterpoint to the fiery oranges and reds in the centre.
