Heidi von Faber (1963) The Hague, The Netherlands. Heidi finds inspiration in the use of light in the paintings by the Old Dutch Masters. This use of light in her work make the everyday topics of her realistic paintings really stand out. This is why she usually works against a dark background. She likes to create a restful image without too many frills. Because of the subject matter, often objects in everyday use, and the seeming simplicity of her style, her creations have a contemporary look. Glass objects and colourful fruit feature regularly in her work. She finds it important that the composition forms a logical unity and looks appealing. She paints with acrylics on linen.

Very special because of the light against the extremely dark background. Heidi Von Faber herself about this: I like to create a calming image without frills. The simplicity and the subjects, often used in everyday life, give the work a contemporary look. I think it is important that the composition forms a logical whole and has an atmospheric appearance. The artist gives her own interpretation and addition to the 'still life genre' through her working method and compositions.
