A beautiful huge signed and dated 1970 French oil on canvas depicting a garden trug and shears, by Henri Marcel Martin.
Excellent quality work on an impressive scale which is presented in a painted wood frame. Original gallery label on the reverse.
Artist: Henri Marcel Martin (French, b. 1921)

Size: 27 x 37.5 inches (68.5 x 95 cm) including the frame
Marcel-Martin was a former student of Antoine Raynoldt, from whom he learned drawing and painting. He also attended classes at the Académie Julian. The painter Henri Cadiou and the sculptor François Stahly were among his influences. A member of the Société des Artistes Indépendants Aixois, he participated in the Digne Engraving Biennial.
