About the Item
Jeff Faust draws from the rich tradition of highly illusionistic canvases, where the eye perceives a sophisticated depth. Faust's ability to blend the ordinary with a touch of the extraordinary invites viewers into a world where inanimate objects hold a secret life. The concept of still life as "arrested life" is central to understanding Faust's art. His paintings often juxtapose the animate with the inanimate, bringing a dreamlike quality to everyday objects. This duality, where the exterior world is transformed into an interior fantasy within the artist's studio, resonates deeply with viewers.

Jeff Faust, a California self-taught artist, finds strength in simplicity, shaping his unique style—dubbed "subtle surrealism" or "visual forms of the written word." His paintings feature intriguing juxtapositions, blending clouds, ropes, leaves, and eggs to evoke nuanced narratives. Faust's creative process is dynamic and thought-provoking. Through his art, Faust aims to create windows that offer viewers a respite from the loudness of the world, encouraging them to re-center themselves and find solace in the simplicity and complexity of his visual narratives.
Faust's exploration of trompe l'oeil within his still lifes adds another layer of complexity. This technique, which plays with the viewer's perception, connects his work to the historical tradition of illusionistic painting. The pleasure derived from recognizing an object as a mere representation rather than reality is a central element of this art form. Faust's still lifes, whether through their realistic depiction or their playful inversion of everyday objects, challenge the viewer to reconsider the boundaries between art and reality. His work is a testament to the enduring power of still life painting to evoke both wonder and introspection.
Faust’s works have been showcased in numerous private and corporate collections worldwide.

Innocence and Renewal - Original Green Abstract Oil Painting
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Mark Acetelli’s oil and mixed media paintings awaken the viewer’s sense of exploration and adventure; they demand a new discovery. His artworks exhibit a chemistry of complexity and spontaneity, a lyrical abstraction of frenzied marks, many of which previously lay hidden, buried beneath strong layers of self-taught expression. Those truths, first obscured and then obvious, aim to engage the viewer, allowing them to explore their own interpretation. His figurative abstract artworks are represented by Artspace Warehouse in Los Angeles and have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including London, New York, and Hong Kong.
This original oil painting on canvas measures 60 inches high by 48 inches wide. In his distinct abstract expressionist style, Acetelli uses a captivating blend of color and form to create an ethereal scene filled with serenity and introspection. The artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides of the artwork are painted black and it does not require framing. It is signed by the artist on the front of the artwork and titled on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and international shipping is available. A certificate of authenticity issued by Artplex Gallery is included.
Mark Acetelli was born in Detroit into an artistic household. Mark’s mother herself was a painter and some of his earliest memories were the smell of turpentine and oil paints. Growing up surrounded by his mother's work, she inspired and encouraged him to become an artist.
Acetelli’s paintings are inspired by the intensely personal introspective journey of life, from the ever-changing complexities of love, loss, birth, and death. The context of his work he describes as, “Absence and Presence” pertaining to how someone or something can be physically gone, but the essence still remains. Capturing the physical mixed with spirituality on canvas. His application of paint is an extension of that thought process. He works by continuously building up and tearing down, layer upon layer, adding and subtracting. A visceral dance between the conscious and the unconscious until the emotion is expressed.
Acetelli’s paintings may go through multiple incarnations with the past lying just beneath the surface, adding to its overall dimension and depth. Acetelli's mastery of abstraction is evident in his use of color and form to evoke emotion and atmosphere. In his work, Acetelli seeks to evoke a feeling rather than depict a defined image. He uses primarily oils and encaustics to create thickly layered canvases with emotive bursts of color. Creating a world where imagination and reality come together. Acetelli’s works can be found in many private and corporate collections around the world, including Bill Withers, Lisa Colburn, Colburn School of Music, Raytheon Corp, Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Michael Jordan, Stuart Beattie, Claire Forlani, Camryn Manheim, and Francine Maisler.
