About the Item
oil on canvas, 40"x60" signed on reverse by the artist, Linda Griggs. This striking fine art painting captures the quiet allure of a nighttime swimming pool, glowing against the darkness of its surroundings. Rendered in contemporary realism, the composition features an above-ground pool encircled by small spotlights, casting a warm glow on the darkened ground. A metal pool ladder invites the viewer into the luminous water, while a basket filled with colorful pool noodles adds an element of contrast and nostalgia. In the background, a rural landscape stretches beneath a moody night sky, with distant lights suggesting the presence of a nearby community.
With exceptional attention to light and shadow, this painting evokes themes of solitude, leisure, and the quiet beauty of suburban summer nights. The artist’s precise brushwork and atmospheric depth create a compelling interplay between the artificial glow of the pool lights and the vast darkness beyond, making it a captivating piece for collectors of realist art, modern figurative painting, and American landscape scenes.
