Mid Century still life oil painting on wood of tulips in a vase signed in the bottom right by the artist Louis Jacques Vigon (1897-1985). A delightful floral oil painting with strong, bold colours in a very attractive frame. Here, a mixed colour bouquet of tulips stand upright within a glass vase, their stems, clearly visable. Instead of the usual fallen petals often seen in floral still life, the compliment here is a couple of pears which broadens the appeal of this painting and makes it a possible for kitchen and dining areas. Lively colours and swirling brush strokes makes this a painting that catches the eye with a feast of colour easily complimented in today's modern colour schemes.

Signed: Louis Jacques Vigon (1897-1985) Born in Nice in 1897, this Provençal painter frequently painted his native Provence, Corsica, and also Normandy. He often used a palette knife, a technique that allowed him to give more relief and depth to his landscapes. Our painting is signed in the lower right corner and is sold with its original Montparnasse frame.
Condition: Both the painting and the frame are in good condition but you should expect minor imperfections associated with age related wear and tear.
