About the Item
Lucienne Lemercier was a French painter from the latter part of the 19th century through the early 20th century.
She came from a family of creative people and took to painting at an early.
After getting married she traveled to and from America where she ended up living in California.
This is an excellent example of her work and it has all the quality and skill her work is best known for.
The style is very much late 19th century with a more naturalistic approach rather than earlier style flower scenes which were stiffer in style.
The frame is a hand-made gold leaf English frame that was picked to bring out the colors of the painting.
