Michel No (French, 1939) Still life Vase of flowers Oil painting on canvas signed lower right. Michel No's painting is full of sunshine and color; it is a kind of echo of nature always in motion. A true sincerity emanates from his works. He describes his creative work as follows: "I like the concept of pleasure and joy in painting. I don't have a complicated mind, if I can convey some of that joy and strength. " "A great explosion of light and passion, a language of totally unusual strength." (Michel Roquebert) Michel No was born in 1939 in Orsay. He discovered drawing at an early age and at the age of 18 entered AD Steinlen's painting workshop in Paris and, from 1957 to 1958, G. In Algeria, he produced a series of drawings and gouaches on the Casba. He stays in Catalonia, where he finds the Mediterranean light.
