In "Orange Bouquet", Ming Ming presents a dazzling still-life where the warmth and vitality of nature take center stage. A cascade of fiery orange blossoms burst from a deep blue vase, their vibrant hues intensified by the interplay of light and shadow. Swirling brushstrokes and bold contrasts create a dynamic energy, making the flowers feel as though they are in constant motion, reaching beyond the canvas.
The background of deep burgundy, cool blues, and bright greens, grounds the composition while enhancing the luminous quality of the petals. Ming Ming’s expressive technique, marked by thick impasto and gestural strokes, bridges abstraction and realism, capturing not just the form of the bouquet but its essence—the fleeting brilliance of flowers in full bloom.
Both radiant and deeply emotive, "Orange Bouquet" transforms an everyday floral arrangement into a mesmerizing spectacle of light, movement, and life, making it a bold centerpiece for any space.

"My painting is an expression of the beauty of life and freedom. My inspirations come from my surroundings: gardens, California’s wildflowers, trees, sunshine, wind, clouds, and tides. All of these drive me to seek how they interact. For many years, I have focused on the theme of flowers. I intend to capture these forms, compositions, and movements between light and shadow to integrate my memories and imagination onto canvas. In my flower series, I explore form, texture, color, and light in a unique freehand style. I usually paint in a certain hue, then rework and re-layer with brush strokes and textures to create paneled surfaces, where the objects, light, and air often meld into one; colors disperse with warmth diffusing into the background. The process is full of the possibilities for the playfulness of art." - Ming Ming

Chattanooga-based artist Christina Renfer Vogel’s “Turning Towards the Sun” features paintings that reflect an intentional turn towards beauty in the face of the tension & uncertainty of recent years. Through nourishing periods of focused observation, she has allowed herself to delight in jubilant color, playful pattern & sensual gesture. Her works delight in the delicate unfurling of a tender leaf & the gentle turn towards an open window, as flowers seek warmth & stretch towards sunlight in the space of a painting session.
