Wonderful English 1930's Still life of Tulips and other red flowers in a vase.

Monogrammed lower left the painting came from a collection of a painter who worked in the Uk and America. M. Mathers was inscribed on a label on the reverse that alas was lost during the restoration process.
This piece was painted in the Uk and has recently been cleaned and reframed in a new English Impressionist style frame.
Overall, the 1930s was a time of great experimentation in the art world, and impasto painting and floral subjects were just two of the many styles and themes that artists were exploring during this period.
