In this series of trompe-l'œil oil and acrylic paintings, Myron Stephens realistically recreates images of mundane objects taped to what appears to be chalkboards covered with free spirited ideas, inspiration and stick figures. Masterfully painted using a "tricks the eye" technique, the artist uses small brushes with oil and acrylic paint on panel to create the witty, charming and unique works of art via his optical illusion way of painting. As with Stephen's other series' including urban scenes that draw from mid century ideas, ideals and cinema noir—Stephen's signature humor and unique perspective span the lot. Myron Stephens
Myron Stephens is a master of observation and a phenomenal contemporary American artist. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his BA degree in fine arts from California State University, Chico, in 1992. Stephens’s work is best understood as stories that open up conversations between the artist and his audience. Stephens has exhibited widely with success and is also a recipient of several awards. He currently lives, paints, and teaches art in Sacramento, California.
