About the Item
In this vibrant oil painting, apricots rest in a simple bowl, seemingly untouched by time. The painting draws on the aesthetics of two of the most influential artists in the history of modern art: Claude Monet and Paul Cézanne. With its delicate brushstrokes and playful interpretation of light and color, this work is an homage to the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements while adding a unique touch of Art Naïve, characterized by its innocent and direct approach to depiction.
The artist’s use of oil on heavyweight professional Fabriano paper (300 grams) evokes the fluidity of Monet's iconic water lilies and the structured geometry seen in Cézanne's still lifes. The apricots, painted with bright, saturated tones, embody the very essence of these two artistic greats. Monet's influence can be seen in the loose, quick brushstrokes that suggest the fruit’s texture, while Cézanne's influence is evident in the careful arrangement of the bowl and fruit, each piece conveying volume and space through subtle shifts of color.
At first glance, the painting may feel simple, almost childlike, yet there's an undeniable complexity beneath its innocent façade. The Art Naïve element adds a sense of playfulness and unrefined beauty, offering viewers a refreshing break from the over-exaggerated precision seen in some modern works. The still life, composed with an uncomplicated beauty, is as much about the handling of light and shade as it is about the subject itself.
This piece, "Apricots in a Bowl," is truly one of a kind. It is an original oil painting signed on the front by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, confirming its uniqueness. The work will be shipped directly from France, carefully packed in a sturdy cardboard box with multiple layers of bubble wrap to ensure it arrives safely. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation message regarding the shipment.
It's worth noting that while the digital photograph offers a glimpse into the artwork's vibrant color palette, the true colors may vary slightly due to differences in camera settings and monitor calibration. The painting’s full beauty can only truly be appreciated in person, where the brushstrokes and textures come to life.
This piece is sold without a frame, allowing the buyer to select the ideal framing that suits their style or space.

Natalya is a contemporary artist from Lyon, France. She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes and low mountains. She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country. She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis when she was struggling with radical life changes. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now. Several years ago painting became more than a hobby. It became a way of expressing her emotions and visions, a successive reaction to events of either personal or general concern. Her artist statement: “ I paint as it’s a necessity for my soul to express itself. Being creative for me is overcoming the restrictions. My art is a piece of my soul. I hope my art inspires reflection, provides a release and forms connection at other people’s souls”. She has developed her own vision of art through practicing a lot. She makes use of varying degrees of figuration, abstraction and impressionism by adding a contemporary twist. Abstract art for her is an interesting challenge for understanding inner feelings, a self-expression based on an intuitive approach. In figurative art her main subject remains women. Her artworks representing women contain the raw emotions of women. She also communicates the importance and the power of strong female relationships: “Women are enriched when they bond with each other”. She works in series: among them are "Heart-mind connection" of abstract artworks, "Women", "Bond", "Florals", "Springtime"... She uses various mediums ( acrylic, oil, watercolor, oil pastels) to create her unique artworks either on canvas or on paper. But she mainly uses acrylic as she works very quickly and expressively by finishing her artwork in one sitting. If Natalya had to pick one quote about her art, she would say : " Art is the reflection of the soul". Natalya goes with her gut and intuition to choose the colors, the lines, the shapes and the texture. She hopes her artworks will give a home a unique personality by filling it with life and color. Her sources of inspirations are Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, George-Daniel de Monfreid, Paul Gauguin. She also admires the artworks of Joan Mitchell and Banksy.
