About the Item
A beautiful signed and dated 1920 oil on canvas interior still life with a shelf and other objects by the important Belgian artist, collector and patron of the arts Philippe Schott.
The work is signed and dated lower left and presented in it's fine original painted and gilded art deco frame from the period.
Artist: Philippe Schott (Belgian, 1885-1964)

Size: 23.5 x 19.5 inches (60 x 50 cm) including the frame
Philippe Schott was a Brussels artist and collector. In his house, on rue du Chêne, he created his own "Schott Museum". After his death, he donated his house and his collection to the City of Brussels. The City operated the Schott Museum until the early 1980s.
After the closure of the Schott Museum, the collection and works of Philippe Schott were transferred to the Brussels City Museum.
