Pierre Jerome French 1905-1982 During his 50+ year career as an artist, he won several major awards, including awards at the Prix de Rome, in 1934; Gold Medal for French Artists in 1944; Knight in the Order of the Legion of Honour, in 1956; Officer in the Order of Academic Palms in 1969 and also won the Officer of the National Order of Merit award, in 1969. Today, Jerome's paintings can be found in many important collections, including Musée de la Légion d'honneur, Museum of Chartres and Museum of Fine Arts, in Dunkirk. His bold brushwork and powerful composition gives the painting a great sense of mood atmosphere. Pierre Jérôme, born January 20, 1905 in Dunkirk and died on March 11, 1982 in Paris, painter spent by the Prix de Rome in 1934 and professor at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere and the Polytechnic . 1919: Back from the war, his father agrees to take him some lessons for it stands at the entrance examination of the École Bernard Palissy (now School of Applied Arts in the industry).
