About the Item
A particularly fine still life in oil, depicting a table dressed with jugs, bottles, bread and cheese. All of the objects painted in the scene look good enough to eat straight from the canvas. Incredibly realistic and lifelike to the eye. The sweet onions and walnuts lie either side of a large butter knife in the centre of the wooden table. The oil has been beautifully presented in a large gilt-effect frame with patina. Unsigned. On canvas on stretchers. Image size: 49 x 59cm.
