Zachary Schomburg is a painter and poet based in Portland, Oregon. For Schomburg, painting is an act of letting go—an ongoing practice of embracing surprise and listening to the paint itself.
In addition to his visual art, Schomburg is a poet and the author of six books of poems, a novel, and the founder of an independent poetry press. His creative practice spans both mediums, with a deep commitment to storytelling through both words and imagery. Schomburg lives in Portland with his partner B and their child, Y, where he continues to explore the connections between language, art, and the natural world around him.
