About the Item
Urban Flow explores the dynamic encounter between the built environment and the fluid, unpredictable movement of fabric in the wind. In this series, Eduardo Rezende captures fleeting moments in which pieces of cloth twist, float, and fold into organic shapes that echo familiar silhouettes — from human gestures to abstract forms that invite open interpretation. Each photograph records a unique and unrepeatable instant, shaped by the precise alignment of place, time, and motion.
The fabrics carry no prints or patterns; their presence comes from color, texture, and the choreography created by the wind. Their vibrant tones contrast with and illuminate the muted palette of the city — the greys of concrete, the browns of weathered walls, and the blues of metal or sky — creating a visual dialogue between the artificial and the natural.
The urban backdrops are carefully chosen to frame these moments: peeling façades, metal gates, scaffolding, and the clean lines of modern architecture. Together, they form a stage where the fabric becomes the central performer, bringing softness and unpredictability to rigid, static structures.
Urban Flow is ultimately a meditation on ephemerality. It celebrates the beauty found in spontaneity and the poetry that emerges when human construction meets the elemental forces of nature.
