About the Item
Martina Reinhart studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and completed her doctorate in philosophy at the University of Vienna. In her work, she focuses on various themes, which she then translates into cycles using different techniques. Initially with drawing and painting. After a scholarship in Barcelona, she began to integrate silkscreen prints and photograms into her work and dealt with the reception of women, men and children in society. After ‚Chimaeras‘ and ‚Dream Beings‘ she turns to knowledge and knowledge structures. With the cycle ‚Körper/Medien/Wissen‘ (Body/Media/Knowledge) she then connects her two major areas on media in reference to Marshall McLuan and his ‚Extensions‘. This is followed by the cycle ‚C(C)ommunik(c)ation‘.
Martina Reinhart lives in Vienna and Lower Austria. Numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, public and private collections.
