Black-and-white sequential motion study of a nude woman interacting with a baby presented in a grid of small frames (contact-sheet style). The sequence echoes Muybridge’s landmark human-locomotion studies that mapped gesture and movement in discrete photographic phases—work that shaped art, photography, and early cinema.
From the limited Electa Editrice portfolio devoted to Eadweard Muybridge, issued in an edition of 1,000. Each sheet is a fine héliogravure on specially developed paper; the complete set comprised 12 loose plates and a folded leaflet by Daniela Palazzoli. This plate shows a female nude with a baby rendered as a sequential motion study—an emblematic subject within Muybridge’s pioneering research into human movement. Published 1981/82 in Milan; sheet approx. 41 × 30.8 cm (11.5 × 15.5 in).
Clarity: this impression is after Eadweard Muybridge (20th-century photogravure from the Electa portfolio), not a 19th-century print. Sold framed in a simple black frame with conservation mat, ready to hang.
