Monroe is photographed leaning over the edge of the high-class Ambassador Hotel in New York city. The Ambassador Hotel was located at 38 East 51st Street on Park Avenue, making it a destination for American high society.
In the background is the iconic Rockefeller Building, one of the major landmarks of the New York City skyline, along with the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.
