About the Item
This black-and-white photograph, taken in 1952 in Paris along the Seine River, captures a tranquil and picturesque moment. In the foreground, a man wearing a light-colored straw hat and dark suit leans on a stone railing, overlooking the river. The composition guides the viewer's eye toward two men standing on the cobblestone riverbank below, engaged in casual fishing with a rod. In the background, the iconic Pont Neuf bridge spans the Seine, adorned with ornate details and a circular relief. The scene is framed by the play of light and shadow, with tree branches and leaves adding a natural element to the urban setting.
Keywords: Paris, 1952, Seine River, Pont Neuf, black-and-white photography, urban landscape, fishing, historical moment, calm atmosphere, mid-20th century, street photography.
