About The Artist:
New York based photographer Fernando Natalici is best known for his iconographic documentation of the downtown Manhattan art scene of the mid/late 70's and early 80's. Natalici’s portfolio includes sought after images of a young Patti Smith, Blondie, Talking Heads, Keith Haring, The Ramones and more. As an Art Director, Fernando has played a key role in creating memorable visuals for historic NY venues such as CBGB's, The Mudd Club, Area and Danceteria.
Fernando’s photo archive and art design were also featured in two highly regarded New York shows: “Area” at The Hole Gallery NYC (2014)
“Downtown New York Film” at The Museum of The Moving Image (2015).
More on the subjects:
Duncan Hannah was an American painter and writer best known for his depictions of idyllic landscapes culled from adventure stories and classic films. His painterly realist style and anachronistic subjects were reminiscent of Edward Hopper. Born in 1952 in Minneapolis, MN, Hannah studied at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson and Parsons School of Design in New York. During the late 1970s, Hannah was involved in the underground No-Wave film and music scene of the time, though his paintings didn’t reflect this. The artist died on June 11, 2022 in West Cornwall, CT. Today, his works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Minneapolis Institute of Fine Art, among others.
