Guido Argentini was born in Florence, Italy in 1966. He lives and works in between Los Angeles, Florence and Rio. Argentini blends the erotic and artistic in his photographs. Taking the ancient Greek concept of Eros as a starting point, Argentini explores the nature of desire. His series span glamorous old Hollywood – inspired color photographs to black-and-white boudoir shots.

"I always felt that photography was too close to reality.
Painting and sculpting allow you to be more abstract when working with the human figure.
My love for dance and for sculpture inspired this series of photographs.
The watercolors of Rodin, sketches of dancers in very erotic and dynamic positions and the polished abstract bronzes of Brancusi were my strongest source of inspiration.
In the pictures of ARGENTUM, the skin, covered with silver paint, becomes an even, shiny surface and the human figure becomes more abstract."
Thoth was the god of the moon, sacred texts, mathematics, the sciences, magic, messenger and recorder of the deities, master of knowledge, and patron of scribes. His Egyptian name was Djehuty, which means “He who is like the Ibis.” He was depicted as an ibis bird or a baboon.

Guido Argentini
Guido Argentini is widely known for his evocative landscapes and stylized color nude photography. The Los Angeles-based artist has freelanced for numerous magazines and has garnered acclaim for his book, Silvereye, which collects sensual photography of nude female models that have been covered in metallic chrome paint.
Born in Florence, Italy, Argentini initially studied medicine at the University of Florence. He left after three years of study to pursue an interest in photography — a passion that brought him to the United States in 1990.
Since the debut of Silvereye in 2003, Argentini has published Private Rooms, Reflections and Shades of a Woman. An admirer of performance art as well as visual art — he has drawn on sculptures by Michelangelo, Auguste Rodin and Constantin Brâncuși — Argentini explored a fusion of motion and eroticism for the images of ballet dancers that are collected in 2013’s Argentum.
Renowned publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire and Playboy have all featured Argentini’s photography. His work has been exhibited at Todd Kaplan Gallery in California, the James Gallery in Russia and elsewhere.
