The original James Bond, Scottish actor Sean Connery, pauses and poses for the photographer on the set of Thunderball.
Thunderball was the fourth installment of the James Bond franchise, hot on the heels of Goldfinger. In this still from the film, Bond plays a tense game of poker against Emilio Largo - SPECTRE's Number Two in command.
The visual contrast between the two male protagonists is enhanced by their diametrically opposed formal attire: Bond, in the classic black tuxedo, versus Largo, in the stylish but less traditional white tuxedo. The challenge is launched, the game is afoot...
