The title of the artwork refers to the famous novel written by the Russian author Lev Tolstoy, published in 1878, which is considered the greatest work of literature ever written by him.
Outstanding portrait representing a charming and sensual woman looking beyond the observer. The woman has shiny curly red hair and is wearing a red velvet jacket. The figure is lying down dead on the train railways. Above her, a clear blue sky.
