In this work, the artist captures the remains of a tiled beach house overlooking the sea. The black-and-white patterned tiles—repeating like a graphic rhythm—stand in contrast to the soft gradient of the sky and the calm horizon beyond the exposed openings. The fractured walls, missing tiles, and jagged edges reinforce a sense of erosion and abandonment, yet the composition maintains an unexpected sense of harmony. The view through the windows and doorway becomes a framed extension of the image, merging architecture and nature into a single contemplative scene.
As with the broader Janela do Tempo series, Rezende reveals beauty within impermanence.
