The cover shot of A Man Alone, 1969. This was recorded between March 19-21 in a Hollywood studio by American singer Frank Sinatra, arranged by Don Costa. In a tribute to the poet, all songs on this album were written by Rod McKuen. "Love's Been Good to Me" reached No. 8 on the British charts, and was also notably recorded by Johnny Cash.

John Bryson
John Bryson was a prolific photojournalist, who spent eight years as a photographer and photo editor at Life Magazine before turning freelance. He is renowned for candid and dynamic celebrity portraits and had an innate ability to win the trust and affection of the rich and famous. His book The Private World of Katharine Hepburn is a seminal and celebrated work. Bryson also photographed Ernest Hemingway (famously kicking a beer-can in the snow), Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, Frank Sinatra, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Nikita Khrushchev and Salvador Dali wearing a crown of sausages.
