Masha Ko is a Russian interdisciplinary performance artist based in Los Angeles. Originally a butoh dancer, Masha Ko utilizes a panoply of body-mind techniques used to generate movement in Butoh to inform her body-challenging performance art work. Also, with a Master's in social psychology, Masha's work often deals with deconstruction of Western perspectives related to sexuality, PTSD, and mortality. Her provocative (and sometimes challenging) performance art works have been featured in galleries in LA, NYC, Vienna and Berlin.
Masha Ko and Kolten Horner, are body installation artists who examine how various social dynamics influence individual sense of identity. Their durational performance works are bold and challenging, often shifting the creative power from the artists themselves to the audience, turning spectators into the creators of the work.
