Marea # 9 . Bermuda 2012. Silver Halide Fuji Flex Crystal Archive paper printed with LightJet Oce 430, face mounted with 1/8†UV Tru-VU Clear Conservation Grade Acrylic and backed with 3mm Aluminium Dibond. Ready to hang with an Aluminium Black Profile Inset Frame. In this series entitled Marea, time is the true agent of the image. Consecutive moments are captured in a single frame. Their juxtaposition creates the impression of movement to the camera’s eye, generating a unique yet random photographic event. Though the resulting images are the sum of rational, individual moments, they are more than the sum of those parts. Each subject’s smudged contours breach those of the next. Colour and texture prevail over form. The event is experienced on an emotional plane, rather than one that is rational or figurative.
