Blue Martini and Rainbow Apartments, from Richard Heeps series, 'A Short History of Milan'
There is a reoccurring linear, structural theme throughout the series, capturing the Milanese use of materials in design such as glass, metal, wood and stone. Richard has a strong connection to Northern Italy from printing his books in Verona, and he has visited Milan to exhibit many times. The work here is a series he has been sketching ideas for for a while, and is excited to release his first Italian body of work, capturing the spirit of Milan. It sits alongside his Hong Kong, Vietnam and New York series, which depict the colour, fabric and structure of cities with distinct style.
Two framed artworks each measuring 47x40cm (18.5" x 16").
Each artwork is a limited edition of 25 gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame fitted with standard glass. It is signed and numbered on reverse accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world and his work is now part of many international collections.
