Kawauchi bursted on the international scene in 2001 when she was awarded the Kimura-Ihei-Prize, Japan’s most important emerging talent photography prize, shortly followed by the simultaneous publication of three beautiful books, Utatane (Catnap), Hanabi (Fireworks), and Hanako, her very personal study of a young girl of the same name. Met with great critical acclaim, these “visual essays” demonstrate her finesse and skill of telling a photographic tale. Since this triple-debut, the artist has gone to publish another eleven books, the newest of which are Illuminance and Ametsuchi.
Kawauchi, currently one of the most famed contemporary female Asian artists, is a recipient the eminent Annual Infinity Award (2009) from New York’s International Centre of Photography, in the category Art, and similarly was shortlisted in 2012 for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. She has joined and held many group and solo shows both at home and abroad, with major solo exhibitions in the Fondation Cartier pour l’art Contemporain in Paris, London’s The Photographers’ Gallery, the Hasselblad Centre in Gothenburg, Semear Museu de Arte Moderna de Sao Paulo, the Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum in Shizuoka, or Brussels’ ARGOS Centre for Art
Media. Major group exhibitions to date include those at Munich’s Haus der Kunst, the Huis Marseille in Amsterdam, Museum of Contemporary Art, inTokyo, Toyota Municipal Museum of Art in Aichi, or the Brighton Photo Biennial 2010: New Documents. Her unique approach is like a “drawing senses”, embracing motifs of every day details as well as cycle of life and its transience, and has been admired by art lovers all over the world.

Rinko Kawauchi
Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi weaves a narrative of the duality between life and death in her work. Her images simultaneously suggest optimism for an idyllic existence and existential dread for the struggles of everyday life.
Kawauchi graduated from Seian University of Art and Design in 1993. In 2001, she released a trio of photobooks — Utatane, Hanabi and Hanako — that received critical acclaim and launched Kawauchi’s career. Over the next two decades, she produced over 20 photobooks.
Kawauchi is a master narrator capable of telling stories in a minimalist style. Like the haikus she writes to accompany her work, Kawauchi’s photography offers poetry in the stillness of a single frame. Simplicity is a key element in her work, which captures intentional moments and freezes nature in time. Her subjects include fire, fireworks, clouds, lightning, sakura blossoms and waves.
In 2002, Kawauchi won the Rookie of the Year Award from the Photographic Society of Japan. She received the International Center of Photography’s Annual Infinity Award in 2009 and was shortlisted in 2012 for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. In 2013, she won the Domestic Photographer Award at the 29th Higashikawa Awards and the Art Encourage Prize for New Artist from the Ministry of Education.
She has exhibited her work around the world, including at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, the Photographer’s Gallery in London, the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo and White Cube in Kyoto.

Simakov Kirill – Russian photographer. Born on August 15, 1984 in Moscow.
Taking a great interest in photography, Kirill began working at the S.Bermeniev’s National Portrait Gallery in Moscow. He was organizing and conducting photo sessions of world celebrities and outstanding figures of art and politics, curated exhibitions, and belonged to the editorial group on creating books, catalogs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Milan, Vicenza, New York, etc.
In 2012 he received a certificate of completion of the course “Marketing for photographers” and in 2018 completed “Portrait Photography” course at the New York Institute of Photography.
In 2013, Kirill founded his own Collection of author’s photos for interior decoration of homes and office space.
In 2016 he opened a working studio in Moscow.
In 2017 – 2018 there were Kirill’s solo exhibitions:
– “Borislav Strulev and Friends”, Conservatory, Belgorod (30 portraits);
– “New York or Nowhere”, FLACON Design Factory (40 photos);
– “Outstanding People. Portraits on Skateboard decks “, Design Factory FLACON (15 works).
