Sergio Picciaredda was born in Rome in 1974. In 1998 his father gave him an old reflex camera, a Nikon F2 and a rangefinder Voigtländer, so he began
to produce his first shots impressing black and white films.Sergio Picciaredda was born in Rome in 1974. In 1998 his father gave him an old reflex camera, a Nikon F2 and a rangefinder Voigtländer, so he began to produce his first shots impressing black and white films. He spent a period in New York where he continued to shoot between 2002 and 2005. Back from New York he met Umberto Scrocca of the Electronic Art Café, who in turn introduced him to Achille Bonito Oliva. Abo, after having written him an inspired critical text, invites him to exhibit one of his works "Pool" at the Certosa di Padula together with artists of the caliber of Gabriele Basilico. In the meantime he participates in two photography festivals in Rome by Marco Delogu at the gallery Contemporary Showcase by Elisabetta Giovagnoni. After having exhibited in several galleries in 2020 he decides to abandon the inanimate to focus on a new project "Micro variations in the density of the air" where the artist blends the various textures that have accompanied him throughout his artistic activity, inspired by artists such as Gregory Crewdsome, David Lachapelle and Sandy Skoglund.
