'Till Death Do Us Part' is a love story suspended in time, where memory folds in on itself like desert heat shimmering on the horizon. Two souls, weightless and drifting, collide on an empty road—a meeting that feels less like chance and more like fate remembering itself. Cristal finds Margarita the way one stumbles upon a half-forgotten dream, a whisper from another life. And in finding each other, they awaken, stepping out of solitude and into a love that feels eternal.
Margarita is running—from a past that bruised her, from a brother who never saw her, from a world that left her untethered. Cristal, already dissolving into the landscape, is the one who stops. She is the one who reaches out, the one who understands what it means to disappear. When she sees Margarita, she sees herself—proof that she is real, that she exists. Together, they create a new reality, a fragile paradise held together by shared breath and borrowed time.
Their world is a mirage, a roadside illusion where love rewrites the past and the future doesn’t yet exist. They believe in it with the reckless faith of the untouched, never sensing the fault lines beneath them. But time is never still, and love does not erase the past—it only casts it in a different light. When two souls fuse so completely, do they transcend, or do they lose themselves entirely? Can love suspend time, or does it only make its passing more unbearable? Once a heart has known the warmth of recognition, can it ever return to being unseen? Or must it wander, restless, forever seeking that first, blinding light?
Schneider’s 'Till Death Do Us Part' is an exploration of love and memory, of time stretching and collapsing in the heat of longing. The faded hues of expired Polaroid turn the abandoned trailer park into a liminal space, a dreamscape where the past and present blur into one.
Austen Tate gives Margarita her voice in poetry. Daisy McCrackin gives Cristal her soul in song. And together, they echo across time, forever.
Stefanie Schneider received her MFA in Communication Design at the Folkwang Schule Essen, Germany. Her work has been shown at the Museum for Photography, Braunschweig, Museum für Kommunikation, Berlin, the Institut für Neue Medien, Frankfurt, the Nassauischer Kunstverein, Wiesbaden, Kunstverein Bielefeld, Museum für Moderne Kunst Passau, Les Rencontres d'Arles, Foto -Triennale Esslingen.
