This platinum print photograph, from the Lancaster, Pennsylvania series, concentrates on the daily life of the Amish people and their integration with the landscape around them. The black and white image features two Amish Boys walking down a rural road toward a minimal white house in the distance. The faces of the children, clothed in overalls and brimmed-hats, are not revealed and they are only seen from behind. Tice, especially well known for his printing skill, successfully produced works that identify with the various facets of American society.
