The pictures were taken in Estonian national parks in the fall and early winter of 2023. Hiking for kilometres is the only way to reach the forest-lakes, which are tucked away deep within the forests. There are no people in these picture-perfect settings — just silence and unspoiled nature.
Since 2010 this photographer dedicates himself to aerial photography, travelling around the world and looking for singular landscapes impacted by human activities. From the sky, this views almost look like abstract paintings.

Bernhard Lang
Since 2010, Bernhard Lang has been doing aerial photography. He has travelled the world in search of landscapes strongly scarred by man’s imprint, which he photographs from aerial viewpoints using a ultra-light plane or a helicopter. Seen from the sky, these panoramas look almost like abstract paintings. Firmly in the field of contemporary art, his work seeks to incite thoughts on the environment whilst also giving aesthetic pleasure. Over the last ten years, his work has been recompensed by different international awards. “The aerial views show the world out of a different, uncommon perspective. [...] Also, you see the influence, the impact of the humans on the world. That’s what I’d like to show.’’
