About the Item
Richard Heeps became well-known for his Burlesque Photography after he spent 2003 capturing performances in Britain
America. He spent a lot on time with his subjects on a number of occasions building close relationships with them resulting in more intimate artworks. He began this prior to the cultural phenomenon of Burlesque, on the brink of the new movement which was a form of interpretation and innovation. His connection to it was sparked from his Rockabilly links built over the seven years he spent working towards his book, 'Man's Ruin' which was published in 2007.
An edition of this work featured in the 2018-2019 exhibition Wemen at Nhow Hotel Milano.
This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print. Accompanied by a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity. Free Shipping.

Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England, and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world, and his work is now part of many international collections.
