About the Item

Jennifer Latour Shapeshifter no17, 2025 Edition of 7. Signed in pencil by the artist. Archival pigment print mounted to Dibond, UV laminated, with cleat. Exclusive to ADDITION. Description Jennifer Latour is a Vancouver based artist whose image driven practice originates in hand built sculptural assemblages. Each work begins as a physically constructed composition, carefully balanced and resolved in the studio before being translated into a photographic image. Her work has garnered international recognition for its formal precision and distinctive approach to image making. Latour’s background in special effects informs her acute understanding of material, surface, and illusion, contributing to the heightened realism and quiet tension present in her images. Her visual language recalls the poise of modernist constructed forms and standing mobiles, while remaining firmly grounded in contemporary photographic practice. She has collaborated with Jeff Wall in a professional capacity, refining her understanding of large scale photographic production and image construction. Her practice has also extended into the built environment through large scale spatial and window based collaborations with Aritzia, rolled out across North America, while maintaining the same rigor and restraint found in her photographic works. Shapeshifter no17 was realized in Turkey and forms part of the artist’s ongoing Shapeshifter series, which explores transformation, impermanence, and material negotiation through image making. This 2025 work reflects a continued refinement of balance, spatial clarity, and compositional restraint, offering a quiet yet assured sculptural presence on the wall. Révélations 8
By Patrick Beaulieu
Located in Montreal, Quebec
Patrick Beaulieu’s most recent project Révélations uses installation and digital prints to explore how artistic manipulation can create shifts in one’s expectations of the visual experience. Beaulieu clearly acknowledges his artistic presence in the work through mechanical and digital manipulation of the objects and images he presents. He becomes more than a passive observer and recorder of his physical world; the alteration of conventional photographs implants his voice and vision into the work. This approach directly addresses and contrasts artistic practices which seek to conceal the artist’s hand. His method diverges from those that attempt to present an uninterrupted and uncontaminated record, such as some documentary and straight photography. In using these stylized techniques, Beaulieu makes a palpable proclamation regarding the subjective and flexible condition of images. In Révélations, images of trees, moss, leaves and other natural objects are presented in strict colour schemes of muted grays, browns and greens. Though these colours are familiar components of the natural world that we experience in day-to-day life and in photographs of nature...
