About the Item

This 22" x 17" digital pigment print was shot and developed by Oklahoma artist Jon Burris. This work presents a striking composition of three botanical elements—each isolated against a black backdrop that heightens their color, form, and symbolism. At the center top floats a soft green hydrangea cluster and to the left is a sprig of eucalyptus. Their silvery matte surface and gentle curve imbue the piece with understated elegance and linear tension. On the right, a white lily anchors the composition with dramatic flair, its broad, ruffled petals splay outward. A faint yellow pistil and subtle spotting draw the viewer's gaze inward. Diffused lighting reveals textures without casting heavy shadow, granting the print a contemplative atmosphere. The stark black background and crisp white border reinforce its archival presentation, offering a minimalist yet emotional study in botanical form, material presence, and temporal stillness. Jon Burris is a native Oklahoman who has been active in the Oklahoma City arts scene since the early 1970s. Professionally he has had a career as both a working photographer and a fine art curator functioning for clients internationally. He served as Director of Photography for the National Cowboy Museum and Western Heritage Center, Director of the Robert A. Hefner III Collection of Contemporary Chinese Art, Curator of the Christian K. Keesee Collection of Russian Art, Director of the Brett Weston Archive, Curator of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) collection, and Executive Director of [Artspace] at Untitled. Jon also owned and operated Portfolio Gallery, the first gallery in Oklahoma City devoted exclusively to photography and he was a ten year member of the Association of International Photographic Art Dealers (AIPAD). For twenty years he was a visual arts advisor and photographic program coordinator for the Oklahoma Arts Institute. As a curator, Jon has organized over 200 exhibitions and he has published eight books on art and photography. His own photographic work is included in private and institutional collections world-wide. Contradictory to a popular association of photography with storytelling I believe my photographs represent singular observations, not of ‘time stopped’ but rather preserved and without a time frame. At this stage in my life, the satisfaction for me is being able to personally exhibit photographs that communicate what I want to express artistically and hopefully, to connect with the viewer on some level.

Untitled Assemblage #S3-23 , by John Wolfe, Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
John Wolfe's Mixed Media Abstract Sculpture, "Untitled Assemblage #S 3-23" brings together wood, steel, ceramic elements, and acrylic paint. The warm colors of the wood and painted ceramic elements soften the feel of the rectilinear arrangement. The shallow depth of the work gives the sculpture a kind of "drawing" quality while the shadows it casts lend a more expansive feel. The heavy, dark wood base anchors all aspects of the work in place. This work is the perfect tabletop piece. It's large enough to command attention, but also subtle in its open framework arrangement. John Wolfe was born in Vernon...

Love Garden Party (Envy) by Skip Hill, Mixed Media Painting
Located in Oklahoma City, OK
This 26.5" x 29.5" by American artist, Skip Hill, is a vibrant mixed media collage/painting combining abstracted figures with stylized vases and domestic objects, adhering to the stylistic qualities of the Pop Art movement. The abstracted cats and the female figure are the focal points within the composition. Layered textures and material juxtapositions adhere to the assemblage processes. The integration of food bowls, patterned vessels, and foreign script introduces surreal narrative elements and multicultural references, positioning the work within postmodern collage traditions. 'Love Garden Party (Envy)' is on 150 lb paper stock and is hand embellished with inks, acrylic paints and collage, thus creating a unique work of art. Love Garden Party (Envy) is framed with conservation quality, high UV-filtering museum glazing. The painting/collage is signed on the lower front of the work by the artist. The work is framed in a heavy white wooden frame. Skip Hill was born in 1961 in Padre Island, Texas but grew up primarily in Oklahoma City. After attending Oklahoma City University to study Advertising and Marketing, he worked as a graphic designer before relocating in 1987 to Southern California. A two-week trip to Thailand in 1989 turned into a year traveling throughout Southeast Asia while writing for a business magazine based in Bangkok. In 1990 Skip Hill relocated to the Netherlands, immersing himself in the culture and learning the Dutch language. His frequent visits the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam as well as the Boijman Van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam, sparked Hill’s interest in creating art inspired by aesthetic concerns over the strictly commercial art he produced during his advertising career. It was during this time abroad that he traveled through Germany, Czechoslovakia and Morocco. After returning to Oklahoma in 1993, Skip Hill studied formally at The University of Oklahoma with conceptual artist Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds, and influential abstract painter George Bogart...
