Avraham Inlender (1932–2003) was a Polish-born artist, playwright, and director who lived in New York, Israel, and Europe. At 15, he fought in Israel’s War of Independence before studying at Bezalel, Columbia University, and the Art Students League. He worked in dance, film, and theater design, with exhibitions across Europe, Israel, and the U.S.
Inlender trained under Elia Kazan, Lee Strasberg, and Erwin Piscator and served as dramaturge at the Cameri Theatre. His play On An Open Roof was produced in Israel and on Broadway (1962). In his final years, he collaborated with Milton Katselas at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, co-writing Visions and Lovers for 20th Century Fox.
