In 1986, Bernard Buffet visited the city of the Doges to create a magnificent series. The architecture and charm of Venice caught the artist's eye, as evidenced by the words in the album Venise: “I feel an irreversible attraction to Venice, which I must admit is mingled with a dull anxiety that is not without its own charm.

Bernard Buffet
Bernard Buffet was born on July 10, 1928, in Paris. He was a French painter of Expressionism and a member of the anti-abstract art group L'homme Témoin. He studied art at the École Nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts and worked in the studio of the painter Eugène Narbonne. Buffet died on October 4, 1999, in Tourtour, France.
