About the Item
This colorful lithograph after Pablo Picasso was printed by the Atelier Mourlot in Paris in 1964 and is unsigned*. This image is taken from a drawing in pencil and colored chalk entitled 'Tete d'homme' (1964) and was printed with the help of Henri Deschamps. In 1964, this image was used to make a lithographic poster for the Musee d'Art Moderne de Ceret advertising an exhibition honoring the works of Rene Char. Rene Char was a poet and activist, with whom Picasso shared a close friendship.
*There is a signed edition, before lettering of 100, plus the poster edition of approximately 3000.
