About the Item

Origin–Blue Consonant-2 by Seiko Tachibana is a luminous abstract composition that evokes systems of connection, growth, and transformation. Softly layered fields of blue emerge from a pale ground, forming cloud-like clusters that appear to pulse and expand across the surface. Fine linear networks and circular nodes weave through the composition, suggesting molecular structures, constellations, or encoded patterns of communication. Tachibana’s delicate balance of transparency and density creates a sense of movement and quiet energy. The work feels both scientific and poetic, merging organic form with diagrammatic structure. Origin–Blue Consonant-2 exemplifies the artist’s exploration of rhythm, repetition, and the visual language of interconnected systems. Signed, titled, and numbered from the edition of 25. There are seven related images in this series, all the same size. Sheet size: 9.88 H x 21 W Image Size: 22.5 H x 30 W Seiko Tachibana was born in Japan and completed her Masters of Art Education at Kobe University, Japan. Her distinctive work balances Asian tradition with minimalist modernity. Tachibana’s work is exhibited internationally and has been acquired by many museum collections, including the Los Angeles County Museum, Fine Art Museums of San Francisco, The Portland Art Museum as well as others throughout the USA, Europe and Japan. She received an MFA from San Francisco Art Institute in 1995, and has since received many awards including Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation Award.
