About the Item
This stunning large-scale hand-painted canvas edition is created in oil by Shizico Yi and is 95% hand painted directly onto canvas. Signed on the front and fully signed and numbered on the reverse, this work is Edition #4 of only 10 published.
Due to the artist’s hand-mixed oils and individual brushwork, each edition varies subtly in colour and gesture, making every piece a unique semi-original and highly collectible alternative to an original painting.
Released to celebrate Shizico Yi’s London exhibition Spring Cats and Sunshine Factory (2023–24), this limited edition offers exceptional value while retaining the intimacy and material richness of her original works.
About the Painting
Painted in early spring rain, Sunshine Factory III documents prunus cherry blossoms blooming in Shizico’s garden after a long winter. Layers of gesso, acrylic, and oil create a luminous surface that captures renewal, tenderness, and quiet joy.
This work belongs to Shizico Yi’s Spring Exhibition Series, where she pushes impressionism toward abstraction—exploring colour as emotion, inspired by the lineage between Matisse and Howard Hodgkin.

Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories. With a design and film background, Yi combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK and a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL, London. She is also the winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013, Los Angeles, USA.

-Frames in the pictures are not included. If you need advice on framing, just give us a shout. *Though this is made on canvas then hand stretched over a wooden stretcher; if you apply D-rings at the back, it would be ready to hang without needing a frame.
-It is a hand painted finishing Edition, it might take 3 days for the varnish to dry before packing; therefore we ask for your patience allowing 4-5 day-process time in the studio.
