Sunset Song – The Night stands as one of the most iconic works featured in Modern Ancient – Summer Exhibition at GSY Studio Gallery, UK, 2025.—this Limited Edition ( only 5 available) was 90% hand painted with details by Shizico is a rare gem we’re thrilled to present.
The original painting was created entirely en plein air under moonlight, with no artificial light to guide her. Shizico painted the night with unfiltered presence—relying solely on instinct, memory, and decades of intimate knowledge of her hand-mixed pigments.
She rendered the shifting skyline and interplay of light and shadow through pure confidence and deep understanding of her craft.
This painting captures more than a nightscape—it is a meditation on seeing without seeing, on trusting one’s craft, and on the expressive depth of painting itself.

About the Artist
Dr. Shizico Yi is a UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories .
With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
