A rare 1980s large sized Warhol exhibition poster that would look fantastic framed.
Dimensions: 29.25 x 37.5 inches
Good overall vintage condition. Fold-lines as originally issued. Some small separation to folds in a couple of areas.
Published by Gagosian Gallery, New York 1988. Unsigned.
History:
Thirteen Most Wanted Men was originally a large mural created by Andy Warhol for the 1964 World's Fair in New York.
Warhol used the same silkscreens to create a series of smaller diptych paintings on canvas that were exhibited at the Sonnabend Gallery in Paris, and then in Cologne and London, in 1967-68. The work may have partly inspired two compilations made from Warhol's Screen Tests series of 16mm films, 13 Most Beautiful Women and 13 Most Beautiful Boys, made in 1964-5.
