I feel like an African Prince (orange and ochre bison) is a limited edition drypoint etching by Kate Boxer. The rich ochre and orange tones gives the work an opulence. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist, Kate Boxer. Kate Boxer makes the plates in her studio which are then sent to to the master printmakers. After they have been printed, they are numbered and signed by the artist Kate Boxer. What makes Kate Boxer's prints different to normal prints is that they are hand coloured by the artist. This work is sold unmounted and unframed.

Kate Boxer, artist and printmaker, is available online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Kate Boxer’s was born in Sussex in 1961 and studied art at the London Art Schools.

This piece is inspired by William Blake's poem 'TheTyger'. I design the image in my sketchbook and then transfer it to lino, which I hand-carve. Each print is handprinted in my studio using a roller press. As each print is individually handprinted, there may be slight variations in tone and colour. This print is made using gold oil-based ink as a background and then printed over with the tiger in dark purple ink. Each print has the title, edition number and my signature hand-written beneath the image.
