"Galerie Maeght, " Offset Poster by Shusaku Arakawa
By Shusaku Arakawa
Located in Milwaukee, WI
Designed by Shusaku Arakawa, this was a poster for his exhibition at the Galerie Maeght in Paris, 1977. Shusaku Arakawa was a Japanese artist and architect. Shusaku Arakawa, who spoke of himself as an “eternal outsider” and “abstractionist of the distant future,” first studied mathematics and medicine at the University of Tokyo, and art at the Musashino Art University. He was a member of Tokyo’s Neo-Dadaism Organizers, a precursor to The Neo-Dada movement. Arakawa’s early works were first displayed in the infamous Yomiuri Independent Exhibition, a watershed event for postwar Japanese avant-garde art. Arakawa arrived in New York in 1961 with fourteen dollars in his pocket and a telephone number for Marcel Duchamp, whom he phoned from the airport and with whom he eventually formed a close friendship. He started using diagrams within his paintings as philosophical propositions. Jean-Francois Lyotard said of Arakawa’s work that it “makes us think through the eyes,” and Hans-Georg Gadamer described it as transforming “the usual constancies of orientation into a strange, enticing game—a game of continually thinking out.” Quoting Paul Celan, Gadamer also wrote of the work: "There are songs to sing beyond the human." Charles Bernstein and Susan Bee observe, "Arakawa deals with the visual field as discourse, modal systems that constitute the world rather than being constituted by it." Arthur Danto found Arakawa to be “the most philosophical of contemporary artists." For his part, Arakawa declared: “Painting is only an exercise, never more than that.” Beginning in 1963, he collaborated with fellow artist, architect and poet Madeline Gins...

Where There Is Love There Is Life Offset Print, Pop Art, Signed, 2010
By Mr. Brainwash
Located in Draper, UT
Controversial L.A. “street artist”, Mr. Brainwash takes to the New York City art scene with the opening of his “Icons” show in the meat packing district on Sunday February 14th. First brought to the public eye when LA Weekly profiled the artist in a cover story, Mr. Brainwash continues to be a much-discussed figure as the star of infamous street artist Banksy’s documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop”, which premiered last month at the Sundance Film Festival. Thierry Guetta or “Mr. Brainwash” jam packed his massive art Icons show into two floors of a 15,000 square foot space. The show features portraits of pop culture icons; Madonna, Obama, Michael Jackson, James Brown and the Beatles, among many others, all interpreted through old broken records placed on canvas and silk screens with touches of spray paint. Wether you love him or you hate him, Art Icons is sure to be one of the largest and most lavishly funded art shows of the decade. Mr. Brainwash: Icons is ran from March 31 at 415 West 13th Street between Ninth Avenue and Washington Street in the Meatpacking District...

David Banksy vs Bristol Museum, Contemporary Art Show Poster
By Banksy
Located in Draper, UT
David Banksy vs Bristol Museum, Contemporary Art Show Poster. Unsigned show poster form Banksy's exhibit in Bristol in 2009. Banksy’s career—filled with art world pranks and political activism—has produced a variety of posters showcasing the street artist’s wry sense of humor. Commissioned by Greenpeace to protest global deforestation, Banksy’s early poster Save or Delete (2002) features blindfolded characters from Disney’s The Jungle Book standing amidst a devastated landscape. In 2005, Banksy pranked The Museum of Modern Art by secretly installing a painting of a Tesco Value soup can (a spoof on Andy Warhol’s famous silkscreens of Campbell’s Soup Cans) in one of its galleries—a hoax that went unnoticed by the museum’s staff for six days and inspired a series of Tesco Value soup can posters years later. Collectible Banksy posters...
