French caricaturist Adrien Barrere ( 1877-1931) was famous for his tongue and cheek humor. The poor terrified student. A wonderful lithograph with some delightful Daumier reprints in the bottom margin. Barrere was a French poster artist and painter, active in Paris during the Belle Époque. His poster of the Paris Medical Faculty was so popular that 420,000 copies were made and given to all the medical students upon graduation. He also designed posters for Parisian cinemas and Grand Guigol.
This print is in good condition and was published by Sidney Z. Lucas in the late 1030’s.
