This artwork titled "Aaron and Moses" c.1980 is an original color lithograph on paper by Israeli artist Amos Yaskil, b.1935. It is hand signed and inscribed A.P. (Artist Proof) in white crayon by the artist. The image size is 20 x 14.5 inches, framed size is 33.5 x 27 inches. Custom framed in a black frame, with green color matting. The artwork is in excellent condition, the frame is in very good condition, it has a few very small dents. barely visible.
About the artist.
Amos Yaskil was born in Haifa, Israel in 1935 to a German mother and Polish father. At the age of 10, he began painting in what was described as a "wholly adult style," recognized by some critics as sensational. The author Arnold Zweig, having noticed his talent, interviewed Amos at length for a British newspaper. Superlatives such as "the Mozart-like, wonder-child-of-painting" and "young genius" were used repeatedly to describe the then 13 year-old Yaskil.
Amos Yaskil is an autodidact, meaning self taught. The development of his paintings and prints, and his activities in other artistic creations correspond to the different phases of his life. In his art he combines the impressions of the landscapes in which he lives with the influence of the French Impressionists and of the German "Brucke" artists.
For the last 32 years he has lived near the Sea of Galilee. The world of Amos Yaskil is one where permanent Spring holds sway in a breathtaking experience of color. He uses rich color, brilliant sunlight, and natural beauty of the region to enable the world to share in that beauty.
Amos Yaskil exhibits regularly in Israel, Europe, South America, the Far East and the United States.
