Angelo Canevari’s Head of a Woman is a 25 x 20 inch surrealist drawing made with melted polyethylene. Canevari's work is often inspired by classical themes and myths. The mythology is often re-visited through his personal memories giving shape to figures that are a combination of historical mythical characters and the imagery of his innermost self. This Head of a Woman is the perfect syncretism of this creative process: maybe the head of an ancient Mother Goddess or just a minimalistic representation of a character from Canevari's memories.
